Denise Lutgens (The Netherlands) is a Dutch concert pianist, pedagogue, and artistic director whose musical path began at an exceptionally early age. Her fascination with the piano emerged in childhood and quickly developed into a serious artistic vocation.
She entered the Young Talent Class of the Conservatory of Amsterdam at the age of eight and continued her advanced training at the conservatories of Tilburg and the Anton Rubinstein Akademie. A decisive moment in her development came when she was invited by the legendary pianist and pedagogue Vladimir Krainev to study with him at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hannover, where she studied from 2002 to 2008.
Following her graduation from grammar school, Denise continued her studies at the Royal College of Music in London, becoming the first Dutch pianist admitted to this prestigious institution. She later completed her higher artistic education at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague with Professor Naum Grubert.
As a young pianist, Denise won several important international competitions, including the Steinway Competition (Netherlands), the Rotary Competition, the Alexander Scriabin Competition in Paris, and the DTKV Wettbewerb in Germany.
Alongside her performing career, Denise Lutgens has developed an outstanding reputation as a pedagogue. She is co-founder of the Holland International Piano School in The Hague and teaches at Globe CKC in Hilversum. Her students have won numerous international prizes and have performed at prestigious venues and events, including Festival Classique in The Hague, as well as national television appearances.
Denise is also Artistic Director of the Globe International Piano Competition and is actively involved in organizing competitions, festivals, masterclasses, and international summer and winter schools. She performs regularly throughout Europe, presenting a repertoire centered on the Romantic tradition, complemented by her own compositions.
